Foreboding

There are a small number of people for whom imagery and symbolism alone are sufficient reason to watch an otherwise difficult film such as this one. In the story, a boy, a woman and a cow seem to be the only survivors of a global catastrophe, except for whoever is following them threateningly in a tank.

Autumn

Julien, a movie director, is on the phase of editing his new film, "Juliette sacrifiée". Hurried by his producer, he asks for the help of a professional editor. It is Anne, with whom Julien is soon falling in love. During the whole of the movie, both are sitting in front of the editing table, where they listen to music, talk about politics and what movies should and should not be about.

Interdizione perpetua

The director Gaetano Di Vaio wanders around in a Naples that struggles to survive, telling the difficulties of those who, on the margins of society, try to overcome the shortcomings of the state, reinventing themselves a job. A documentary that does not just show what happens, but wants to explain the reason for what happens, in a society that is the paradox of itself.

My Way

My Way begins with the conventional "small-town girl livin' in a lonely (corporate) world." Yet instead of taking the midnight train, Rebekah Starr trades her pants-suit for a Les Paul, grabs her sassy Estonian tambourine-banging sidekick and hits the highway-destination: Sunset Strip. When Rebekah's marriage falls apart in real time, we realize her dream is not a whim. It is a burning passion for music that comes with its share of real world sacrifices. Thanks to the support from her newfound rock n roll legend friends such as Steven Adler (Guns n Roses) and Rikki Rocket (Poison), Starr re-commits to her mission and accomplishes what she set out to do. Her contagious optimism acts as the film's through line, hoping to inspire anyone feeling trapped by their circumstances.

Faraway Land

Twelve-year-old Trabzon Rum, Paris, escapes from the camp to get the gift that his father carved for his mother. When he returns, he sees that the exchange is sent and the camp is evacuated. The new regime declared Major Osman a traitor, arrested and closed the camp, which was evacuated from the exchanges. This twilight, in which roots and loyalty are questioned, will be the homeland of both until new ships arrive.

Dogs

A short film about friendship, disillusionment, loathing and despair, in which the pictures of three young men talking are juxtaposed with slowmotion shots of aggressive dogs. Three young men are talking about Richie's marriage to Evelyn, which has put their friendship on the back burner. Richie explains how that could happen. "She fell for me, and they hate me for it", he says. Everyone was mad about Evelyn, but Richie makes it clear that their marriage is not exactly a bed of roses. He admits that be bluffed and lied and more or less asks his friends for forgiveness.

Picnic Panic

A young Mexican boy, his girl, and his mule go on a picnic, and are having a good time when they come upon a temperamental volcano and, then, almost anything can happen and almost does.

Terra Nullius or: How to Be a Nationalist

Even uninhabited archipelagos may be subject to drawn out territorial disputes if they are rich in oil deposits. However, the filmmaker is more concerned with how ownership issues reverberate amongst nationalists in competing countries rather than in the history of the dispute or its resolution, making it possible to present the patriotic pathos-soaked ceremonies of the Japanese, the efforts of Chinese authorities to complicate diversionary activities, and the expressive protests and bizarre rituals of Taiwanese activists. The desire to understand the situation leads the director to participate in several futile attempts to land on the islands. Although he finds himself on the frontline during an escalation in the conflict, he is able to maintain his distance as an impartial observer.
